Tiffin Sandwiches at Blue Light Weekend 2026!

Supporting the People Who Keep Our Communities Moving

Held in Withernsea on the 8th and 9th August, the event brought together emergency services, community organisations, families and visitors for a weekend celebrating the people who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

As headline sponsor, we were proud to be part of it.

From meeting visitors and getting involved in the activities to celebrating frontline teams and seeing our Tiffin blue spread across the seafront, the weekend gave our team the chance to step outside our usual working environment and become part of something much bigger.

Most importantly, it gave us an opportunity to say thank you to the people at the heart of Blue Light Weekend.

Blue Light Weekend in Withernsea

Blue Light Weekend has become a major event in the East Yorkshire calendar, bringing together families, visitors, emergency services, military organisations and community groups for a weekend of entertainment and recognition.

The event raises money to support Blue Light charities and community initiatives, while giving the public the opportunity to learn more about the organisations working behind the scenes to protect and support them every day.

Throughout the weekend, visitors enjoyed:

·         More than 70 stalls.

·         Family activities.

·         Military displays.

·         Live entertainment.

·         Helicopter and aviation displays.

·         Emergency service demonstrations.

·         The popular Colour Run.

With so much happening across the seafront, there was a real sense of energy throughout Withernsea, and we wanted Tiffin to be part of that atmosphere rather than simply attending as an exhibitor.

Our involvement gave visitors plenty of opportunities to interact with the Tiffin team throughout the weekend.

Our sales stand became a place to stop, chat and find out more about the business, while our bar provided refreshments for people as they explored everything Blue Light Weekend had to offer. We also brought plenty of Tiffin extras along for visitors to enjoy, including sweet treats and keyrings, but one of the best parts of the weekend was meeting people face-to-face.

Blue Light Weekend brought us into contact with people we wouldn't normally meet through our day-to-day work, giving us the chance to hear their stories, answer questions and introduce new people to Tiffin Sandwiches.

2,000 Tiffin Hats Take Over Withernsea

If there was one thing that made Tiffin particularly hard to miss, it was our hats.

We arrived with around 2,000 Tiffin hats, and they quickly found their way into the crowds.

By the end of the weekend, they were everywhere. Visitors wore them around the stalls, at the Colour Run, while watching the displays and throughout the event.

Seeing so many people wearing Tiffin hats across Withernsea was

one of our favourite moments of the weekend.

What started as a simple way to get visitors involved became part of the atmosphere of the event, creating a sea of Tiffin blue across the promenade.

Celebrating the Teams Behind the Uniform

While there was plenty of entertainment across the weekend, Blue Light Weekend has a much more important purpose: celebrating the people who dedicate their lives to helping others.

We wanted to give visitors the opportunity to recognise the Blue Light team they felt deserved a special mention.

So, we launched a competition asking the public to vote for the team they believed should receive a selection of Tiffin sandwich platters.

After the votes were counted, we're delighted to announce that the RNLI received the most votes and was named the winning team.

The competition gave visitors another opportunity to recognise the dedication, commitment and hard work of the people working across our emergency services.

For us, that captured exactly what Blue Light Weekend is about.

It's not simply about celebrating the organisations themselves. It's about recognising the people behind the uniforms and the work they do every day.

We're incredibly proud to have been able to play a small part in that recognition.

The Colour Run was another highlight of the weekend; participants of all ages threw themselves into the event, covering themselves in colour as they made their way down the promenade.

There was music, there was laughter, there was plenty of friendly competition, and there were plenty of colourful Tiffin hats joining in too!

Events like Blue Light Weekend show what can happen when local organisations, businesses, emergency services and the wider community come together.

Aviation Displays, Helicopters and Taking to the Skies

Withernsea’s seafront became the perfect viewing point as helicopters and aircrafts took to the skies, drawing crowds and adding another spectacular element to the event.

Some of the standout attractions included:

·         Bell 47 helicopters.

·         Jet ranger helicopters.

·         R44 helicopters.

·         Army Gazelles.

·         Wing Walkers.

·         The Starlings display team.

For some members of the Tiffin team, the experience went beyond watching from the ground, with the opportunity to fly in one of the helicopters.

It was certainly not your average weekend at work.

What Blue Light Weekend Reminded Us About Food-To-Go

Although Blue Light Weekend was first and foremost about people and community, it also emphasised the important role food and refreshments play when large numbers of people come together.

At Tiffin, we manufacture and distribute fresh sandwiches, wraps, salads, snack products and platters to customers across England, Scotland and Wales. Our products are supplied to a wide range of busy environments including healthcare, education, workplaces, hospitality, convenience, retail and travel. That means we understand the importance of reliable food-to-go provision when people are busy, demand changes quickly, and there is little room for disruption.

Blue Light Weekend was simply another example of how food can become part of a much bigger experience. Whether it’s a sandwich picked up during a busy shift, refreshments at an event or a platter shared between a team, food always has a way of bringing people together for a large-scale event like this.

Looking Back on an Incredible Blue Light Weekend 2026

Blue Light Weekend 2026 gave us everything we could have hoped for from a community event: incredible people, unforgettable displays, plenty of colour and an atmosphere that stayed with us long after the weekend ended.

From the team working on our stand to everyone who stopped by, joined the Colour Run, voted in our competition or simply enjoyed the event, we were grateful to be part of it.

As this year’s headline sponsor, we're incredibly proud to have supported such a fantastic event.

Most importantly, it was a chance to say thank you.
